About The Position
Ameren Services provides administrative support and services to Ameren Corporation and its operating companies, subsidiaries and affiliates. Nearly 1,400 employees serve the company with business planning, communications, diversity, financial support, human resources, information technology, legal counsel, and safety and supply services.
Student will work in GIS environment learning from engineers, designers or mapping personnel as they help support GIS projects. Key responsibilities include:
The co-op will be responsible for mapping Ameren's property rights ("interests") in ArcGIS Pro and delivering those mapped interests to Ameren Real Estate's GIS Technician. This individual may be asked to provide some level of analysis of Ameren's interests or utilize GIS tools to identify property rights for members of the Real Estate Department. This individual will be trained to:
Use Ameren Real Estate's database to locate interests
Understand legal documents pertaining to Real Estate, Read legal descriptions
Map interests in ArcGIS Pro.
Available Opportunities:
January – August 2026 Spring Co-op
Reviewing GIS data for Quality Control and Quality Assurance purposes
Visiting sites in field to collect data and verify Ameren records
Interacting with Ameren contractors to evaluate/confirm the validity of data provided to Ameren
Documenting work practices utilized to gather, evaluate and record GIS data
Assisting with updates to Ameren data
Qualifications
Current student status pursuing a degree in GIS, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university required. Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA but, 3.0 GPA is preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will:
Knowledge and/or use of Esri ArcPro GIS is highly preferred.
Exceptional with Microsoft Office applications.
The candidate must be willing to engage and learn real estate in addition to GIS.
The candidate must be able to identify, work through, and make decisions with incomplete information.
Solid part-time work history preferred
Work effectively as part of a team
Demonstrate creative problem solving and proactive learning, with good analytical, management, communication, and human relations skills.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate clearly
Have the ability to perform multiple tasks within given time constraints with little to no oversight.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
