Are you a seasoned professional in the construction industry with a knack for precise cost estimation and project bidding? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Estimator to join our thriving team. This role is integral to our operations as it directly influences our project planning and execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and bids, conducting cost analysis, and managing project estimation. With a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and the ability to anticipate potential challenges.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other related costs. 2. Participate in the preparation and submission of project bids, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accurately represented. 3. Conduct cost analysis to help the company make informed decisions about project feasibility and profitability. 4. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to gather all necessary data for accurate estimation. 5. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates. 6. Monitor and track project costs, identify variances, and implement necessary changes to keep projects within budget. 7. Provide regular updates to management on the status of current project estimates and potential future projects. 8. Maintain a comprehensive database of up-to-date cost information to ensure accurate and efficient estimating. 9. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to continuously improve the accuracy and efficiency of estimating processes.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, is a plus 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating or a related role. 3. Proficient in project bidding, cost analysis, and project estimation. 4. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications. 5. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment. 6. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders. 8. Proficient in using estimating software and other related computer applications. 9. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy. 10. Strong negotiation skills to ensure the best prices from suppliers and subcontractors.
