Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitates structured sessions between children and their caregivers face-to-face, telephone and/or electronic contact (i.e. video chat, skype, facetime, or email) Provide transportation services to participants for case related activities to include medical appointments, therapy appointments, court hearings, unsupervised visits, or for any other case related activities that do not require monitoring or supervision. Provide necessary client information to referring department and the family (contact logs, mileage, reports, case updates). Establish and maintain appropriate professional files which provide all necessary documentation regarding the family. Ensures that daily structured schedule is followed and enforces policies and regulations Attends workshops, training, and meetings as necessary Serves as a role model/mentor to assigned client Monitors children with special needs to prevent accidents and/or injuries Monitor and provide a safe visitation environment for children and terminate the visit if it is not deemed appropriate or parties involved have improper conduct. Clearly define the rules of visitation with all parties involved and notify referring agency if rules are violated. Promotes responsibility and independence of children and their families Implements behavior management, as needed Have general knowledge of children’s ages and stages Additional Functions
Must be able to work independently and as a team member Must be sensitive and responsible to the cultural differences in the organizations’ service population and maintain healthy boundaries. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications, Certificates, Licenses, Regulations
High School diploma/ GED Some experience working with children Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for automobile insurance under the Kalispel Tribe A minimum of one (1) year driving experience A clear driving record (a copy of drivers abstract required) Not have received and DUI violations (driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs) No felony convictions involving the use of a motor vehicle Ability to pass a WA state background check required Ability to pass a Child Abuse and Neglect background check required HIV/Aids training First Aid/CPR certification TB Check
Work Environment
This position is performed primarily in an office environment. Significant portions of the job require extended sedentary periods; constant work with computers, including extended periods of keyboarding; and repetitive motion of hands and wrists. This position requires the ability to bend, stoop, lift, carry, and move items weighting up to 25 pounds or more. This position requires significant amounts of standing or walking. This position requires significant local travel. This position requires significant out of area travel for client services, meetings, and conferences. This position requires the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. This position requires substantial amounts of overtime. This position requires significant amounts of work to be performed outside general business hours. Significant evening meetings and weekend work may be required.
