Overview
The Medical Laboratory Technologist Lab Supervisor is responsible for supporting all medical laboratory functions. This includes performing advanced testing on blood, tissue, urine, stool, amniotic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, and other body specimens in a lab. They operate and maintain equipment to examine these samples, ensuring precise and timely results. The Medical Laboratory Supervisor will handle the advanced testing, quality control, troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and advanced laboratory functions. Key Responsibilities
Works in a pathology lab, preparing samples, slides, and cultures for medical pathologists to review. Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing. Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank. Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues. Responsible for administrative tasks for lab and radiology personnel. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment. Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Actively participate in Mass Casualty exercises and events. Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies. Basic Requirements/Certifications
Minimum of 5 years recent experience as Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist including 6 months within the last year. Credentialed as an MLS (ASCP) cm or MLS (ASCP) cm eligible. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred. Education
Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology or related field. Physical Requirements
Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements. Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. May require bending, stooping and lifting to 25 lbs. Other Special Qualifications
US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required. Valid US Passport with at least 18 months before expiration date. Must maintain a current passport during your stay in Iraq. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically a MRPT. Applicants with current clearances are preferred. Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project. Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
