This is professional, technical, and analytical work in support of the Office of Sustainability and Resilience. The Sustainability and Resilience Supervisor oversees the development, execution, and evaluation of initiatives that advance the Citys sustainability and resilience goals. Work includes direct supervision or professional and para-professional employees, coordination across departments on sustainability and resilience initiatives, and engagement with community stakeholders. The position combines strategic planning with applied research, operational analysis, and continuous improvement to optimize sustainability and resilience programs and priorities effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Assists in leading the development, implementation, and monitoring of citywide sustainability and resilience plans, policies, and programs.
Drives measurable cost savings through efficiency improvements and strategic resource management.
Supervise and support staff, interns, contractors, or consultants engaged in sustainability and resilience projects.
Conducts research and data-driven analysis to evaluate and improve program outcomes, operational procedures, and optimizes program costs and saving reductions.
Prepare detailed reports, recommendations, and professional presentations.
Leverages data analysis to streamline operations, eliminate waste, and maximize return on investment.
Monitor and analyze operational and weather data, including the impact of weather events, utility trends, and performance metrics.
Coordinates across multiple city departments to integrate resilience and sustainability goals into planning, capital projects, and daily operations.
Manage and maintain centralized data platforms, dashboards, and reporting tools to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Identify, pursue, and administer grants, incentives, and funding opportunities that support sustainability and resilience projects.
Track and advise on state and federal legislation, regulations, and best practices related to energy, waste reduction, resilience, and resource efficiency.
Provide training and guidance to employees on sustainability and resilience policies, procedures, and reporting practices.
Aligns resilience and sustainability goals with operational best practices and implements programming related to goals.
Salary: $70,566 $113,056 Close Date: 09-26-2025 (11:59 PM) Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Have a valid Bachelors Degree. Have three (3) or more years of program management experience in sustainability, resilience, energy management, business management, environmental services, and/or organizational communications. Have previous experience organizing and analyzing technical or operational data to guide decision making. Have experience using statistical and asset management programs. Have advanced skills with Microsoft Word and Excel. Be able to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely, orally and in writing.
Desirable Qualifications
Have a valid Masters or other advanced degree in data science, public administration, economic development, engineering, environmental science, communications, business management or a related field. Have experience using web-based data visualization tools (e.g., ESRI, Tableau, Power BI, D3, Google Charts). Have experience managing grants, compliance programs, and interdepartmental activities. Be familiar with resilience planning frameworks, building efficiency standards, risk assessments, and cost-saving procedures.
