Overview
The Distribution and Underwriting team within Liberty Mutuals Global Risk Solutions (GRS) organization is hiring an innovation Senior Full Stack Engineer. The role focuses on leveraging modern technology to deliver business value, increase our digital footprint, and reduce total cost of ownership. The candidate will drive platform modernization of systems to shape the teams capabilities and technical solutions, with emphasis on strong engineering practices. The position requires adaptability to changing requirements and a growth mindset, with involvement in maturing agile processes, enhancing technical quality, and progressing CI/CD transformation. This is a hybrid role with 2 onsite days per week and may consider candidates in Portsmouth, NH; Boston, MA; Plano, TX; Indianapolis, IN; and Columbus, OH. Responsibilities
Lead platform modernization efforts and shape technical solutions for the team with a focus on engineering excellence. Consult on highly complex projects and solve technical problems in an agile environment that combines startup energy with Fortune 100 backing. Collaborate to drive digital transformation and create intuitive consumer applications. Mentor junior software engineers and coach cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance performance, quality, and efficiency beyond simply fixing problems. Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5+ years of Full Stack Engineer experience. 3 5 years of experience with TypeScript and Angular, Spring Boot, JavaScript (Node.js, Angular), AWS cloud technologies, micro-frontend and microservices architecture, and REST API design. Experience with Directus and other CMS is a plus. Experience with CI/CD practices and DevOps principles. Hands-on involvement with layered system architectures and shared software concepts. Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and content management solutions is a plus. Strong experience working in an agile environment and ability to lead cross-functional teams with negotiation and consensus-building skills. Adaptability to fast-paced and evolving business environments; demonstrated decision-making skills. Proficiency in multiple object-oriented programming languages and tools; excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience coaching and mentoring junior team members and the ability to work independently. Knowledge of the Surety Domain is a plus. Pay and Benefits
This role has a base pay range of $104,000.00/yr $194,000.00/yr. Liberty Mutual Insurance provides a broader pay philosophy; the actual salary is based on skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles may include commission and/or bonus earnings as described in the compensation plan. Typical starting salary ranges are influenced by labor market value and may progress with growth in the role.
