Job Summary

Responsible for the operation of flexographic presses and other departmental production equipment to meet or exceed safety standards, production schedule requirements, and customer specification requirements.

Essential Functions

Always work safely following Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), safe work practice policies and procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Responsible for the efficient operation of the press. Ability to troubleshoot/repair minor mechanical press issues with assistance of maintenance. Operates unwind section of press, including roll preparation, mounting, and splicing, festoon and roll alignment. Issue material being used accurately and timely into data reporting system. Operate rewind and delivery section of presses. Stack, pack, label, and palletize per customer requirement. Operate material handling equipment (Toyota lift, pallet jack, vacuum lifts, hoist, etc.). Must understand Anilox roller fundamentals - line screen and cell count. Responsible for maintaining condition of anilox and inventory. Recognize and communicate quality issues; verify order BOM with TWS and FileMaker. Responsible for all make-readies, including changing plates, dies and performing wash-ups. Participate in preventive maintenance activities, as directed by operator or team lead. Participate in Lean Events as scheduled. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and surrounding area to SQF & 5S standards. Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually, SQF cleaning. Use of measuring device(s). Operate/changeover and troubleshoot Manicotti Stacker. Input daily data information into the Halo, verify order information using File maker, use Sato CL4NX printer, and Stratix scanner. Comply with all chemical safety guidelines, responsible for labeling, logging, and reporting chemicals used. Manage and maintain inventory of materials/parts. Maintain quality standards for color, fit and function of the product. Manage and maintain material staging area clean and organized. Recognize and communicate quality issues; verify order integrity with TWS. Other responsibilities as required. Job Qualifications

Required

Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the operation of a flexographic machine. Possess mechanical aptitude abilities. Understand and be able to read product specifications and make changes as necessary. Ability to read/write in English; capable of acting to written or verbal instruction. Basic understanding of math concept to complete production reporting requirements. Must possess basic computer skills for use of systems: BPCS, TWS, Halo, FileMaker. Must have good communication, problem solving and decision-making skills. Knowledge of small hand tools and how to use them correctly. Prior training and current understanding of Lockout Tag out concepts. Must be able to understand the readings in a tape measure. Must be able to work overtime as required by production demands. Must be able to identify slight color variations. Must be able to lift a minimum of 35lbs to shoulder height. Must be able to push and turn jumbo paper rolls weighing up to 1000lbs frequently with the use of roll rotating device. Must be able to push full carts of waste material weighing up to 1200lbs to the balers. Must be able to climb ladder when required. Must be able to bend and stoop frequently. Must be able to stand and walk 100% of working time. Able to use equipment for movement of product: Toyota lift, pallet jack, hoist. Preferred

High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required. Environment

Will spend 100% of time on manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels which will require the use of personal protective equipment including (but not limited to) hearing protection, safety glasses and steel toe shoes.
