POSITION SUMMARY

The Area Leader is responsible for driving results through ownership, accountability, and hands-on leadership within their assigned Department. This role ensures the efficient flow of work orders, maintains a high standard of quality, and leads daily operations with a relentless focus on performance and detail. Area Leaders serve as the first level of escalation for problem-solving, communicate cross-functionally to eliminate roadblocks, and take initiative to motivate their team toward continuous improvement. Success in this role requires strong multitasking skills, a deep understanding of performance metrics, and the ability to escalate issues effectively and decisively when needed.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Take full ownership of work order progress, ensuring jobs flow efficiently through the department and meet delivery targets Drive a results-oriented culture, setting the pace and expectations for daily execution and throughput Lead by example in upholding all Safety requirements and company guidelines Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve issues that impact delivery, quality, or safety Reinforce a culture of ownership, communication, and continuous improvement Maintain Hose Master standards for housekeeping and 5S; own the condition and organization of the area Ensure quality checks are completed accurately and consistently throughout the shift Oversee and ensure completion of all preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled Maintain a visible presence on the floor; proactively support operators, troubleshoot problems, and remove obstacles to success Ensure employees are properly trained and competent before assigning tasks Coordinate labor and machine assignments to hit daily production goals without sacrificing quality or safety Run shift start-up meetings to align team priorities and communicate expectations Identify and escalate unstaffed equipment issues; work with supervision to create action plans Partner with Planning to manage and adapt shop floor schedules as needed Serve as a hands-on leader: step into any function as needed to support flow and results Participate in and support Emergency Response protocols Actively engage in Lean Daily Management practices and drive seamless shift-to-shift transitions Provide first-level escalation support to operators; resolve issues or escalate further when necessary Ensure all operators have adequate tools, materials, and information to be successful Regularly review and audit area procedures for clarity, accuracy, and sufficiency Maintain and verify calibrated equipment and tools are in proper working order Adhere to company purchasing limits and maintain integrity in resource use Responsible for area open and close procedures, including building security Utilize hourly cell boards to track metrics, identify downtime, and drive corrective action Support first-piece inspection sign-offs and post-interruption validations Perform required data entry, documentation, and non-conformance reporting accurately and in real time Lead or support rework/sorting activities and verify part segregation to ensure quality Conduct inspections and verify product quality as needed Collaborate on and contribute to the execution of Employee Development Plans Train team members on Work Instructions and validate adherence Continuously look for process improvements and communicate them to leadership QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent Ability to understand and follow English instructions Previous experience in Manufacturing and/or Fabrication Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency CORE VALUES
