Pay Information $2,572 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - NRP - NIHSS - AWHONN Advanced - AWHONN Intermediate - FHM Must-Have: Previous Charge Experience Description: The registered nurse will provide care in Labor and Delivery settings. The nurse will rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition phases. Postpartum care is not included in this position. The nurse will be responsible for administering blood and blood products. High-risk deliveries will be assisted with support. The nurse will provide breastfeeding and lactation support. Support for cesarean sections and circulation during these procedures is required. Pain assessment and management must be conducted effectively. Monitoring of fetal heart rates and other vital signs is essential. The registered nurse will assist with high-risk antepartum care. Dilations, effacement, and station assessments must be performed. The use of external and internal fetal monitoring is required. Administration of medications such as magnesium sulfate and Pitocin is expected. Recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns is important. The daily patient census can be fluctuating. Experience with charting systems, specifically Cerner, is preferred. The nurse will uphold facility policies and procedures regarding patient care. Certifications must be current and maintained throughout the contract period. Flexibility to work during holidays is required. Compliance with health and safety regulations is mandatory.
