Position Overview We are recruiting for a Database Administrator to work as part of the overall DBA team to determine, implement, and maintain the most efficient ways to organize and store data.

Responsibilities

Participating in leading the design, development, and administration of Oracle 19c databases

Designing and developing database code for ETL of data from multiple sources

Conducting performance tuning and forecasting system scalability

Recommending appropriate procedure, query, or package changes and optimizations to ensure and improve system performance and reliability

Installing and configuring database environments

Performing database backups and restores

Managing, monitoring, and administering of Oracle database systems

Participating in server and storage capacity management and planning

Providing technical support in the evaluation of database systems and database design

Recommending and implementing approved process and tool improvements

Required Qualifications

Active TS/SCI

clearance with polygraph required #qinetiqclearedjob

Significant experience with Oracle 19c+ architecture and database design, and related Oracle technologies (Partitioning, Encryption, Pluggable Database, etc.) on Linux systems

Significant Oracle Exadata and PL/SQL developer experience

Oracle Label Security (OLS) experience

Significant experience and knowledge in methodologies to improve database query performance.

Ability to work with multiple teams to enhance their code and improve performance.

Significant experience in the optimization of database environments

Strong understanding of high-availability solutions, architecture, backup methodologies and their implementation (RMAN, Data Guard)

Experience managing and tuning very large databases (terabytes and petabytes) and with automating, scripting, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy with strong documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Oracle Exadata

Experience with PostgreSQL architecture, database design, administration, and related technologies.

Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Technology

Oracle OCP or OCM certification(s)

Linux experience as relevant to database O&M

Knowledge of multiple data-storage technologies

Ability to work with multiple teams to enhance their code and improve performance
