Job Summary:

This role is responsible for providing expert technical service, support, and preventive maintenance for industrial band saw equipment across the United States. The Service Technician will be a key technical resource for our customers, functioning as a vital part of the sales team to build and maintain strong business relationships with both distributors and end-users. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented problem-solver with a strong mechanical aptitude and the potential for future leadership roles within the company.

Essential Job Functions: Sales & Relationship Management:

Work in conjunction with Regional Sales Managers to support product testing and demonstrations at customer locations. Assist in developing and executing business plans to foster growth at major accounts and acquire new business. Maintain and utilize the customer database and contact information in Salesforce (CRM).

Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve end-user issues through on-site troubleshooting, including minor repairs, alignment, and calibration of sawing equipment. Conduct thorough process assessments to evaluate customer materials, equipment, and operational goals to provide tailored solutions. Provide customers with optimal cutting parameters (speeds and feeds) to prolong blade life and improve efficiency.

Customer Training & Education:

Train operators and maintenance personnel on machine operation, safety protocols, and preventive maintenance, either at the machine or in a classroom setting. Educate end-users on the fundamental principles of band saw usage to ensure proper and effective operation.

Preventive Maintenance & Testing:

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance ("tune-ups") on band sawing machines, including replacing guides, roller bearings, and making fine adjustments. Conduct cutting tests to evaluate and demonstrate various products, record data to validate performance and make recommendations.

Administrative & Coordination:

Coordinate all travel and service schedules efficiently to maximize time with end-users and minimize costs. Maintain and submit accurate and timely expense and service reports. During "in-office" time, perform various projects as assigned by the management team.

Work Environment:

This position requires working in various manufacturing facilities where exposure to the following is common:

Overhead cranes and moving forklifts. Sharp metal edges and heavy materials. Adherence to strict safety protocols is mandatory, including wearing safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, and ear protection. Some facilities may require completion of their proprietary safety training program. Requirements:

Personality:

A self-driven, results-oriented individual with a positive outlook and a clear focus on quality. Mature, credible, and comfortable interacting with all levels of an organization, from saw operators to senior executives. A reliable and determined team player who is keen on new experiences and accountability. Skills & Experience:

Proven mechanical ability and strong problem-solving skills are essential. Working knowledge of various band sawing machines, band saw blades, and common metals/alloys. Ability to use basic hand tools to inspect, adjust, and calibrate machinery. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Personal Situation:

Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver's license/passport. Ability to travel extensively, often for several days per week/month. Flexible to work extended hours when required.

Managerial Potential:

While this role does not initially have direct reports, we are seeking candidates with the natural ability and ambition for leadership.
