Training Specialist

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly qualified Training Specialist to support the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command and its Space and Missile Defense Center of Excellence, also known as the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense School. In this role, you will help educate, train, and develop leaders in Space and Missile Defense operations while contributing to the development of Army doctrine for Space, High Altitude, and Global Missile Defense. You will be responsible for creating and delivering individual and collective training tasks, enhancing Army-wide readiness, and supporting the U.S. Army's Quality Assurance Program to ensure the highest standards in training, education, and leadership development. This position also provides direct support to the Space Operations Training Division and the Army Space Cadre Basic Course, playing a vital role in preparing the Army's Space Cadre for current and future missions. Key Responsibilities

Support the design, development, and delivery of TSOC curriculum in accordance with Instructional Systems Design principles such as ADDIE. Facilitate instructor-led training, simulation-based exercises, mission planning scenarios, and demonstrations in both classified and unclassified environments. Develop lesson plans, training materials, and course content; establish evaluation criteria; and deliver instruction for one or more SMDS courses. Integrate CONOPS, TTPs, and threat-based vignettes into training modules for SATCOM, SDA, and other space mission areas. Conduct training needs analyses, task validations, and course updates to align with evolving operational and doctrinal guidance. Maintain training records, student evaluations, and course documentation in compliance with U.S. Army and DoD training standards. Collaborate with doctrine developers, intelligence analysts, program offices, and operational units to ensure training is current and relevant. Conduct after-action reviews, facilitate student assessments, and provide curriculum improvement recommendations. Research emerging threats, update existing training materials, and develop new content in coordination with SMDS training divisions. Provide subject matter expertise on space capabilities in support of Army operations and tactical space mission areas. Skills and Experience

The Training Specialist must have: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance. 5+ years of experience in military space operations, instruction, or training development. 2+ years of experience in tactical-level space mission areas such as SATCOM, SSA/SDA, missile warning, or EM spectrum operations. Prior military experience in the space domain (e.g., 13S, 1C6, or equivalent). Demonstrated ability to deliver training to military audiences, including junior and mid-grade officers and enlisted personnel. Familiarity with USSF tactical operations, TTPs, and mission systems in a tactical space operations environment. Experience supporting classified training programs in SIPR, JWICS, or other secure environments. Knowledge of ISD methodology and practical application of ADDIE or similar frameworks. Strong written and oral communication skills, including lesson plan development, briefings, and student evaluations. Ability to brief senior leaders and higher-ranking officials effectively. Experience conducting training in support of exercises, rehearsals, or operational readiness events. Understanding of Space Power Doctrine, JP 3-14, or equivalent joint space operations doctrine. Familiarity with tactical planning tools, simulators, or mission execution systems (e.g., MIDB, GCCS, SPADOC, or Space C2 tools). Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Previous instructor, facilitator, or public speaking experience. Education and Certifications

The Training Specialist must meet the following: Required: Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Space Studies, Engineering, Military Science, or a related field. Completion of a DoD Instructor Certification Program. Preferred: Instructional Systems Design or Curriculum Development certification. Familiarity with SCORM, JKO, or other DoD LMS tools. Benefits

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
