About the Role:
The Driver position is a critical role within the Health Care industry, responsible for the safe and timely transportation of our residents. This role ensures that all resident transports are conducted in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies, maintaining the integrity and safety of the residents and staff. The driver will operate various types of vehicles, including company bus and vans, requiring a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to support the operational efficiency of healthcare services. Ultimately, this role contributes to the seamless transportation of our residents, from all levels of care, directly impacting the organizational success.
Minimum Qualifications: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A. Proven experience in bus driving. Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards. Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems. Experience in related to healthcare or similar industries. Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working within the Health Care industry. Familiarity with transportation management software and electronic logging devices (ELDs). Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate with multiple departments. Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Responsibilities:
Operate company vehicles to transport residents and/or staff safely and efficiently. Comply with all DOT regulations and company safety standards during all transportation activities. Plan and follow the most efficient routes by reading maps and using GPS technology to ensure timely deliveries. Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical safety and report any issues promptly.. Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents during transportation. Communicate effectively with team members to support transportation management.
