Power Generation Technical Support Specialist

Entergy's Power Generation group operates a fleet of more than 30 owned, leased, or operated natural gas, coal, oil hydro, solar and petroleum coke plants, with a total engineering capacity exceeding 20,000 megawatts. Entergy continues to build or acquire megawatts from new hydrogen capable natural gas units, solar, wind and other technologies complement its existing megawatts of nuclear, natural gas, coal, oil, hydroelectric, and solar facilities. * This position may be filled by a Tech Support Specialist II, III, or Sr. based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. * Job Summary
Responsible for developing, implementing and managing improvement projects, and/or provide diagnostic subject matter expertise to enhance the overall reliability, efficiency and safety of the plant. Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Conduct root cause analysis and prepare reports for management use. Provide primary or backup technical support for various plant system and processes. Utilize online monitoring systems and tools to analyze, trend, and monitor plant performance data to improve plant operation. Provide technical support to maintenance, outage, and smaller capital projects. Technical Lead on specific / complex projects. Support problem solving, equipment condition assessments and represent Entergy during shop repairs. Assignments may engage in diagnostic services. Maintain and Monitor DCS, Mark VI. Make approved logic changes in DCS. Work in conjunction with IT on any plant computer system problems. Train upcoming Production Techs in the DCS, Mark VI. Project management. Repair and Maintenance. Maintain the plant Relays. Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience Preferred: Associate degree in Engineering Technology or bachelor's degree in Science in a technical field. Minimum Experience: Tech Support Spec II: at least 2+ years of power plant or relevant industrial technical experience Tech Support Spec III: at least 4+ years of power plant or relevant industrial technical experience Tech Support Spec Sr: at least 6+ years of power plant or relevant industrial technical experience Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in all applications of the Microsoft Toolkit Must possess good computer skills Ability to work independent of direct supervision Good communication skills also required Duties often require call outs and work after normal hours Be able to keep records and reports Any Certificates, Licenses, etc.: None Primary Location: Arkansas-El Dorado Arkansas : El Dorado Job Function : Professional FLSA Status : exempt Relocation Option: Level II Union description/code : NON BARGAINING UNIT Number of Openings : 1 Req ID: 120868 Travel Percentage : Up to 25%
