Klosterman Baking
Summary:
This position is responsible for various functions in the corporate food safety and quality assurance program department, including FSQA Program and procedure review and enhancement, various auditing functions, and manufacturing FSQA Team support.
Essential Functions: • Maintains and improves corporate quality systems by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigates and analyzes trends in quality systems • Conducts audits of facilities, suppliers, and vendors. • Member of the following company teams:
o HACCP
o Food Safety and Quality Culture Team
o Food Defense
o Crisis Management
o Recall Team • Supplier, Ingredient, and Labeling Management: Review, approve, and amend materials to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
o Manage company systems to ensure compliance with suppliers and ingredients
o Coordinate with customers • Oversee the Corporate FSQA sites in Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. • Assist in building and delivering FSQA training using the company's LMS. • Step in to manage FSQA responsibilities at various bakery locations when needed. • Oversee supplier program management and documentation-related tasks. • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of FDA regulations as they pertain to labeling of food products. • Review all product packaging and labeling to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and maintain accurate product labeling that is both attractive and compliant. • Create and maintain a database of labeling information for all products, including ingredient lists, nutritional information and appropriate disclaimers. • Respond to regulatory officials and customer inquiries related to labeling and compliance requests • Coordinate internal audits of new product packaging, including ingredient declarations and nutrition information, to ensure compliance with regulations. • Stay up-to-date on any changes to labeling regulations and communicate changes to relevant departments. • Perform other related tasks as assigned by Corporate FSQA

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment in our Hebron, KY headquarters. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. which creates low-moderate noise.
This position also requires regular presence in manufacturing facilities, where environmental conditions may vary, including fluctuating temperatures and loud sounds. The role involves physical activities such as walking, standing for extended periods, and climbing stairs.

Expected Hours of Work
This is a salaried, exempt-level, full-time position with standard working days/hours of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with overtime as necessary to complete required tasks.
However, in the event of facility coverage, the hours are subject to change based on need.
Travel
Travel will be required to the surrounding manufacturing facilities periodically.
Required Education and Experience •
Bachelor's degree
in food science, regulatory, biological science, or related field. Two years of experience in FSQA in food manufacturing is required .
