Job Description:
Oak Hill Players (OHP) is the annual musical produced at Scarborough High School. In recent years, the show has been produced in early November. OHP has a long history of large scale musicals. Recent productions include: Singing in the Rain, Grease, Crazy for You, and Anything Goes. Applicants should have stage and production experience. A successful candidate is detail oriented and able to plan multiple layers of a production successfully. She/He must be able to bring the show to life by leading the cast and crew through the production process. She/He must be a detail oriented leader and a multi-tasker capable of planning and juggling a wide range of duties while staying within budget. She/He should be able to recognize and solve problems and have a talent for making decisions that can improve the sound and look of a production. She/He must also be able to communicate a vision clearly to others. In addition to the work done with actors on stage, the OHP Director must be able to collaborate with the technical crew for lighting, sound, set, costumes, and props. The OHP Director needs to be able to plan a comprehensive rehearsal schedule and coordinate the production to have everything ready for opening night.
Qualifications: The Oak Hill Players (OHP) Director will oversee all of the aspects of the production, such as: Casting Staging scenes/Acting Choreography Music Direction - vocals and orchestra Business - budgets, ticket sales, securing rights, royalties, rentals Set, lights, props, sound Program - ad sales, program production Advertising Auditorium management for shows - concessions, ushers Technical crew - lights, sound, stage Experience with the following is preferred:
Organizing an experienced stage and production team Experience working with high school aged students Experience working with paid staff as well as parent volunteers Experience managing finances Broad experience and/or education with many aspects of a production, professional or community theater experience preferred
