We have an exciting opportunity for a Water/Wastewater Design Engineer aligned with our Water Solution Center in Gainesville, FL. In this role, you will be a part of one of the largest water market delivery centers in the southern United States. You will lead the water and wastewater facility designs for conventional and design-build projects ranging from $1M to over $250M in construction and support diverse projects around the region.
While being in Gainesville is preferred to support mentoring and career opportunities for our design teams, a hybrid remote arrangement is feasible depending on experience and ability to work as part of distributed teams.
As a Water/Wastewater Design Engineer, you will collaborate with a core group of engineers and designers on water and wastewater treatment designs and construction services. Your responsibilities include:
Evaluation and selection of process equipment, pumping systems, pipe materials, and valves
Development of facility layouts and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
Development of construction documents, including drawings and specifications
Data analysis and hydraulic modeling
Technical report writing
Construction services support
You will also utilize your leadership skills to work with diverse teams and serve clients across the US and internationally. This role offers the opportunity to connect with technical experts within Jacobs. Minimum qualifications include: Bachelors degree in mechanical, civil, environmental engineering, or related field Professional Engineer license in Florida or ability to attain within 12 months 4+ years of process mechanical engineering experience with water, wastewater, or industrial treatment projects Strong interest in process mechanical system design and operation Proficiency in MS Office Suite Experience working with remote teams
