Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced
Director of Nursing (DON)
to lead our skilled nursing team. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing services and medical records operations, ensuring high-quality clinical care, regulatory compliance, and a culture of excellence.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage nursing operations, including planning, organizing, and evaluating resident care. Supervise RN Nurse Managers, RN Supervisors, Health Unit Coordinators, and Medical Records staff. Develop and implement evidence-based nursing standards and policies. Collaborate with the Administrator and leadership team to set and achieve SMART goals. Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards. Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of nursing staff. Monitor departmental budgets and allocate resources effectively. Serve as a key leader during state surveys and audits. Maintain strong communication with residents, families, interdisciplinary teams, and external partners. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Wisconsin. CPR certification required. Minimum 5 years of clinical management experience, or 2 years as a DON in a skilled nursing setting. Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills. Proven success in achieving positive clinical outcomes and survey results. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and clinical database systems. Nursing Home Administrator license is a plus.
