The Office of Undergraduate Admission at Loyola Marymount University seeks a seasoned admission leader to serve as Assistant Director of Admission. Reporting directly to the Senior Director for Undergraduate Admission, the Assistant Director is expected to demonstrate leadership in all areas of undergraduate recruitment, selection, and strategy implementation. The role is central to advancing the University's Catholic, Jesuit values-such as cura personalis (care for the whole person), academic excellence, and a commitment to fostering a diverse and welcoming campus community.

Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Lead and mentor staff in all dimensions of undergraduate recruitment, modeling professional integrity, innovation, and mission-based decision-making.
Set the tone for the Admission team by initiating and overseeing daily operations: including meeting with prospective students and families, delivering high-impact presentations, responding to complex inquiries, and organizing both virtual and on-campus events, ensuring all interactions reflect LMU's Jesuit values.
Develop and execute strategic recruitment initiatives to strengthen enrollment and broaden access, including outreach to a wide range of students. This includes extensive travel, managing critical relationships with school counselors, community partners, and alumni, and fostering LMU's visibility as a premier Catholic, Jesuit institution.
Oversee and drive the evaluation of first-year undergraduate applications (constituting approximately 75% of work during reading season), ensuring that admission decisions support institutional goals, reflect commitment to holistic review, and further the University's mission-driven objectives for excellence and opportunity.
Represent LMU in professional organizations such as WACAC and NACAC; take on visible leadership roles within committees and special groups, broadening the University's reputation and connections in higher education.
Champion a welcoming and inclusive approach in all admission functions, encouraging strategies and practices that help create opportunities for students of all backgrounds.
Monitor, analyze, and report on admission trends, proactively leveraging data to inform decisions and shape future strategy.
Serve as a mission ambassador, ensuring the values of the Catholic, Jesuit tradition-academic excellence, ethical leadership, and service to others-are central in all admission policies and outreach efforts.

Requisite Qualifications
Typically a Bachelor's Degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
Minimum 3 years of progressive admission experience, with leadership in roles influencing policy, managing staff, and/or shaping recruitment strategy.
Documented experience in supervising, mentoring, and motivating teams.
Experience at a Catholic, Jesuit institution or deep understanding of Jesuit educational philosophy is preferred.
Bilingual or multicultural competence is highly desirable.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming community in higher education settings.
Exceptional communication skills; demonstrated ability to represent institutional mission with authenticity and vision.
Evidence of successful relationship building, strategic planning, and resource management.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work non-traditional hours as needed.
