BOH Assistant/Shift Manager

Dock 17 , you'll lead the kitchen team through high-energy service with precision, positivity, and purpose. You'll keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, from food prep and cleanliness to team motivation and inventory control. • What You'll Need to Bring
1+ year of experience in a kitchen leadership or supervisory role Knowledge of food safety, inventory management, and kitchen operations Confidence with POS systems, ordering platforms, and scheduling tools A valid ABC card (or ability to get one) Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays Problem-solving skills and a cool head under pressure Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills Accountability, adaptability, and a growth mindset Physical ability to stand, lift, bend, and hustle in a dynamic kitchen setting What You'll Be Doing
Lead, coach, and motivate BOH team members during your shift Oversee food prep, sanitation, and execution to meet quality standards Assign tasks, monitor workflow, and support team productivity Ensure BOH/FOH communication is clear and smooth Manage inventory and place orders to avoid shortages or waste Enforce safety and health standards in compliance with regulations Partner with leadership on scheduling, cost control, and team development Train new hires and deliver feedback when performance falls short Complete shift reports and pass along operational updates What Success Looks Like
