Position: Substitute - Custodial, Maintenance & Grounds Salary: $20.25/hr.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Custodial position is a physically demanding position. You must demonstrate physical strength, agility, and energy to perform essential job functions. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by the employee to perform the essential functions of the job: standing, reaching, walking, lifting, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing ladders, pushing, pulling, carrying, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times. Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water and electricity. Shovel and sand walks and steps as appropriate. Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are secure and all panic bars are working properly during the hours of building occupancy. Replace the flag when needed, raise and lower the flag when needed, notify your supervisor of any issue with the flag or flag pole. Daily cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, halls and gym, Follow the cleaning procedures provided by the supervisor. Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation. Make minor building repairs. Report promptly any major repairs needed. Maintain, clean, and service all custodial equipment. Report immediately any damage to school property. Remain on the school premises during school hours and during nonschool hours when the use of the building has been authorized and his/her attendance is required. Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day and for determining, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured, and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off. Move furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed. Keeps an inventory of supplies, equipment, and fuel on hand, and requisition such needed replacements from the Supervisor far enough in advance so that they may be delivered in such time as will not hinder the custodian in his/her duties. Conduct an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair. Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, waste, and recycling materials. Ensure that all deliveries made to the school are promptly stored in an appropriate and safe location. Assist in regular fire and safety drills. Perform all other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Part Time, Twelve months

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the MOESC's Board's policy on evaluation of Support staff.
