Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) Volunteer

The HELP program is a national program developed to prevent delirium and physical decline in hospitalized patients. Delirium is a significant contributor to longer hospital stays and a more difficult recovery. HELP Volunteers will: Foster communication and orientation to the hospital Encourage and support staying active with bedside exercises Provide activities to provide mental stimulation, relaxation and enjoyment Assist with ordering and setting up meals; encourage proper nutrition and hydration Document activities Location to Apply: https://www.volgistics.com/appform/1540876501 Please note, all volunteers must complete a screening process prior to joining the team which includes: Placement Interview and Orientation Volunteer Handbook Review State of Iowa Background check National Background check (if applicable) Health Screening

Covid and Flu Vaccination Required Tuberculosis (TB) Test

Adults commit to a minimum of 6 months Undergrad/Graduate students commit to a minimum of 2 semesters
