Blood Drive Volunteer
As a Blood Drive Volunteer with Vitalant, you'll play an essential role in creating a positive experience for donors at mobile drives and donation centers. From the moment donors arrive until the time they leave, you'll help ensure they feel welcomed and appreciated. A Team Lead will always be available during your shift to provide support, answer questions, or assist with any concerns. Responsibilities
Welcome and check-in donors. Explain the donation process and address any questions donors may have regarding non-eligibility. Ensure each donor receives pre-donation materials. Offer promotional items when available. Encourage donors to donate the best product for their blood type for maximum impact. Manage donor flow Provide excellent customer service. Set up and maintain cleanliness in the Reception and Refreshment/Hospitality areas. Ensure the Refreshment and Reception areas are clean, restocked, and that donors are rehydrated after the donation procedure. Verify that the donor received post-donation information before leaving the drive. Report possible adverse post-donation physical reactions to staff. Qualifications/Requirements
Must be 16 years of age or older Once the volunteer is 18 years of age or older, they must pass a Criminal Background Check Must have a valid Social Security Number Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service Consistently demonstrate professional demeanor Comfortable working with people from diverse communities and backgrounds Ability to understand the technology required for the position; training will be provided Ability to regularly commit to a schedule, arrive punctually, and adapt to changes Reliable transportation Commit to 50 hours per calendar year Required Training
