Position Overview In this key role, you will be instrumental in supporting our trade compliance program by ensuring adherence to regulations, assessing risks, and providing expert guidance on complex trade situations. You will manage projects, develop policies, and enforce compliance standards. This position can be performed remotely, with a preference for candidates situated in the Eastern US region. Key Responsibilities Establish strategic relationships across various business units to ensure compliance with trade regulations. Provide expert guidance on compliance with foreign and domestic trade laws. Participate in investigations regarding suspected trade compliance violations. Oversee product compliance at all stages, from concept to sale and export. Assist in vetting business partners and reviewing documentation for trade compliance. Build and maintain relationships with U.S. government entities overseeing trade compliance. Conduct jurisdiction and classification reviews to ensure the compliant use of export-controlled data. Manage screening and classification activities, including in-house determinations and submissions for licensing. Develop and deliver training on trade compliance matters to promote awareness and adherence. Provide mentorship and leadership to team members as necessary. Support compliance efforts related to travel and visa requirements. Assist with merger and acquisition activities concerning trade compliance. Identify areas for process improvement and operational efficiency. Maintain detailed records, report findings, and contribute to strategic trade compliance planning. Monitor changes in regulations, pending legislation, and industry trends impacting trade compliance. Perform other responsibilities as required. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in International Business or a related field. At least 8 years of experience in U.S. trade compliance, particularly in defense or technology sectors. Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. Strong understanding of U.S. export control laws and trade compliance requirements. Direct experience with jurisdiction and classification determinations, particularly for military and cyber-related items/services. Experience collaborating with government agencies such as DECCS and SNAP-R. Desirable Skills Master's Degree in International Trade or related field. Familiarity with U.S. DoD contracting and Foreign Military Sales programs. Knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and DEARS regulations. Experience with trade compliance tools and systems. Understanding of import/export operations and international trade regulations. Leadership and project management expertise. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate effectively. Adept at working in cross-functional and global environments. Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
