Job Description

Goddard Health Center is the ambulatory care facility on the Norman campus providing primary care services to students, faculty, staff, and dependents. We provide in-house medical laboratory and x-ray services, have a physical therapy department, and full-service pharmacy. Coordinates schedules of patients in an outpatient clinic and provides clerical assistance toward the smooth operation of the facility. Schedules patient appointments, either by telephone or in person. Obtains patient demographics on new patients and updates demographics on established patients. Answers telephone calls and distributes to the appropriate personnel. Prepares and enters healthcare providers' schedules into the computer. Coordinates schedules as directed to patient requiring multiple services. Greets patients as they come into the clinic for scheduled appointments. Accepts payments and writes receipts. Inspects the patient forms for completeness and accuracy. Copies insurance cards and scans into EMR system. Copies medical records for patients following set policies and procedures. Discusses financial accounts with patients. Dispenses supplies as needed. Notifies appropriate person when supplies are low and need to be reordered. Accepts campus mail deliveries. Performs various duties as needed in order to successfully fulfill the function of the position. Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED,

AND:

12 months experience in a customer service role. Skills:

Working knowledge of office procedures General office and customer service skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word) Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as a team player Ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner Must be detail oriented for accuracy of data and information Ability to multitask, be organized, and self-motivated Ability to work in stressful situations Ability to communicate verbally and in writing Ability to maintain patient confidentiality Certifications:

Advertised Physical Requirements:

Sit for prolonged periods. Communicate effectively and listen. Engage in repetitive motion. Use of computer and telephone. May be required to bend, lift, stoop, carry, stand, and reach. Department Preferences:

Experience in outpatient medical clinic.
