Job specification
Provide comprehensive pre-operative care, including patient assessment, preparation, and education to ensure readiness for surgery. Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including health histories, physical assessments, and review of surgical consents. Administer prescribed medications, start IV lines, and monitor patient vital signs to ensure stability before surgery. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans. Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, post-operative expectations, and recovery plans. Candidate requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas. Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a pre-operative or surgical care setting preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
