Key Responsibilities...

• Support the installation, programming, and maintenance of PLC-based automation systems

• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical/control issues in real time to minimize downtime

• Program PLC ladder logic (Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000 preferred)

• Assist with development and updates of electrical control schematics and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements in equipment reliability, safety, and cycle time

• Support vision systems and barcode printer setup and maintenance

• Use FIS (Factory Information Systems) tools to monitor and improve production processes

• Read and interpret electrical schematics to guide repairs and upgrades

• Support risk assessments and equipment safety evaluations

• Assist in training plant maintenance personnel on control systems

• Perform program backups, firmware updates, and ensure PC/network security for automation systems

• Work occasional overtime and weekends to support production needs

Required Skills

What You'll Bring to the Table...

• 1-5 years of hands-on experience in an electrical controls, automation engineering, or similar role.

• Working knowledge of PLC hardware and ladder logic programming

• Experience with RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000 (Allen-Bradley) or similar PLC software

• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, circuits, and factory automation systems

• Basic knowledge of networking (Ethernet/IP), server communication protocols, and FIS

Even Better if You have...

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, or Automation Engineering

• Robotics experience (FANUC preferred)

• Background as an electrician or electrical technician

• Familiarity with optical, inductive, and capacitive sensors, motors, drives, contactors, relays, switches, power supplies, and electrical enclosures

• Exposure to industrial safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures

• Experience with Activplant or similar factory information software

• Ability to continuously assess and implement process improvements for productivity and quality

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
