A Program Representative and Admissions Officer (PRAO) is responsible for cultivation, recruitment and enrollment of qualified students for the O'Neill's three accredited programs (National Theater Institute, National Music Theater Institute, and Theatermakers Summer Intensive) while working closely with prospective students, colleges, and families. A PRAO works with the NTI and NMTI Artistic Directors, Program Managers, the other PRAO, and the O'Neill Controller to ensure full enrollment in all accredited programs. A PRAO plays a leading role in developing and implementing new systems and strategies for school outreach, conference attendance, application tracking, interview scheduling, and enrollment. A PRAO also works closely with the marketing team to inform the creation of a recruitment communications and marketing plan that integrates seamlessly into the forward facing communications for the O'Neill and its other programs.
Supervised by the NTI/NMTC Associate Director, A PRAO plans and conducts visits to high schools, colleges, universities, student forums and conferences. Through these visits, a PRAO promotes NTI, NMTI, and Theatermakers programs through discussion, leads NTI style workshops, holds auditions for NTI and Theatermakers, and builds relationships with faculty and prospective students.
A PRAO contacts, and advises potential applicants, maintains databases, as well as assists with alumni relations. At the direction of the Artistic Directors a PRAO may hold or be involved in auditions and interviews for prospective students. This position requires extensive domestic travel and may require international travel.
The successful candidate will be an out-going self-starter who enjoys meeting and interacting with new people. They will be highly motivated, detail oriented, well organized, poised under pressure and able to thrive while working independently and in a team environment.
Among other responsibilities, a Program Representative and Admissions Officer will:
Strategically plan and execute all NTI, NMTI, and Theatermakers recruitment efforts with the support of the NTI and NMTI Artistic Directors. This includes, but is not limited to, developing and implementing the recruitment strategic plan, visits to high schools, colleges, and universities, attending conferences and festivals, holding auditions, meeting with marketing regularly, drafting copy for recruitment materials, and entering and managing leads in Salesforce, the O'Neill's CRM system. Spearhead student admissions process and act as primary liaison between prospective students and the O'Neill. Meaning: proactively following up with and maintaining regular contact with prospective students from first contact through enrollment in the programs. This includes, generating leads in the company's CRM system (Salesforce), updating application forms, generating enrollment agreements, helping to schedule interviews with applicants, tracking students' progress throughout the application process and answering questions from students, and working with the Controller to process scholarship and financial aid while keeping all admissions paperwork up to date and organized. Budget and track all recruitment expenses including travel and marketing to ensure that funds are being spent strategically, efficiently and within budgetary limits. Create and maintain relationships with NTI / NMTI / Theatermakers alumni, university faculty, and the general public through one-on-one interactions, virtual correspondence, and events. Must live or be willing to relocate to New London County, CT Must be willing and able to travel domestically on a regular basis Valid Driver's license and clean driving record Must be comfortable with speaking to prospective students and building relationships with faculty Hold a basic knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce a plus) Experience with Sales and Marketing a plus Passion for theater, musical theatre, and/or arts education is a plus Benefits
