Position: Plant Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Plant Manager
FLSA Status: Full Time
Location: 8133 County Road 28 Platteville, CO 80651
Hourly Pay Range: $24.00 - $30.00
Position Summary:
The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for identifying, evaluating and performing mechanical and preventative repairs to plant processing equipment, including mechanical repairs, welding, cutting, pipefitting, and operation of light machine tooling while consistently applying knowledge of crushing equipment, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and electrical components.
Core Responsibilities:
• Ensure safety of self and others. This position has exposure to moving machine hazards and an outdoor working environment at an MSHA regulated mine site.
• Identify repair requirements for equipment and conduct effective and timely repairs as required.
• Develop and execute preventative maintenance routines for plant equipment.
• Execute Lock Out/Tag Out procedures per company policy.
• Operate various plant equipment required to perform the job both stationary and mobile.
• Operate maintenance repair equipment such as man lifts and forklifts.
• Parts inventory management, keeping detailed records of depletion and needed inventory. Reporting this information to plant manager and assistant production manager.
• Present process improvements to management team. Document failure findings through root cause analysis and suggest any improvements to extend life or decrease equipment failure rate.
Qualifications:
• 5 years mechanical experience, including experience in industrial maintenance repair.
• Ability to follow safety and environmental rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Comprehend and execute assigned duties safely and effectively.
• Knowledge of crushing equipment, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, welding, plumbing, machine tooling, blue prints, schematics, parts lists and equipment standards related to job duties.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic principles, application, troubleshooting and repair.
• Working knowledge of welding equipment and tools.
• Skills in basic welding and fabrication.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to read machine manuals, parts lists, blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
• Basic math skills and use of measuring tools.
• Highly reliable, team player, and the ability to work well with others.
• Good communication skills and safety conscious.
• Able to work various hours including nights and weekends to include overtime.
• Ability to work in elevated areas in a man lift.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be flexible and capable of learning several different jobs in the department (will be expected to perform any number of assignments involving a variety of equipment during the shift).
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical, which will include a background check.
