Director of Special Education Programs , you will significantly impact the academic outcomes of Elementary School students by leading excellence in instruction and promoting continuous growth. You will motivate and support our dedicated staff to implement impactful teaching practices that align with ChanceLight's proven educational strategies. Your leadership will ensure that policies and procedures are effectively carried out, creating a supportive learning environment where every student can succeed. Main Responsibilities: Provide visionary leadership to enhance student achievement and operational success by overseeing staff performance, developing targeted management plans, identifying professional development needs, and engaging in ongoing learning opportunities. Actively participate in hiring processes to build a highly effective and unified team. Assist teachers in managing classroom schedules, maintaining accurate student data, and facilitating tailored student transition plans. Support teachers in teaching essential social, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills to students. Supervise staff by clearly defining roles, providing development plans, monitoring performance, and offering constructive feedback. Ensure a safe and secure learning environment by overseeing site operations and adherence to incident reporting protocols. Maintain compliance with specific contracts and state requirements, ensuring staff understand and achieve defined success criteria. Manage daily school operations, including scheduling, maintenance, and fostering district relationships. Represent ChanceLight Education positively in community and district forums. Communicate actively with families, district personnel, and community stakeholders to support student success and organizational effectiveness. Analyze staff professional development needs and align training initiatives with organizational objectives. Demonstrate impactful leadership, team-building abilities, and strong communication skills. Instruct and evaluate effective use of educational materials and technology for optimal student outcomes. Maintain accurate records of student progress and ensure compliance with legal mandates. Compile and analyze student assessment data to inform strategies and implement targeted interventions. Model and oversee the use of ChanceLight-endorsed instructional methods. Implement positive behavior interventions and manage student behavior proactively. Engage in assurance processes to uphold high standards and achieve performance goals. Collaborate with the site team and national resources to reach shared goals. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. Master's degree in educational leadership, special education, behavioral health, or similar preferred. Valid education leadership or administration credentials (or in progress). Special education instruction credential (or in progress). Minimum 5 years of experience in special education services and compliance. Minimum 3 years in an educational leadership or school administrator position. Extensive knowledge of administrative operations and accreditation laws. Experience in curriculum management and instruction development. Proficient in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and effective teaching strategies. Ability to motivate students and engage in critical conversations aimed at progress. Proven relationship-building skills with students, parents, and community partners. Strong oral and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with educational technology and office software.
