Leading New York health system seeks an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACGNP) to provide comprehensive care on either the ICU or Internal Medicine Unit in their Suffolk County hospital.
Responsibilities:
Plans and manage the care of patients on the unit and ensure appropriate clinical resource utilization per protocols, pathways, and other means. Educates patient and family to facilitate and promote healthy adjustment to new or changed health patterns Evaluates treatment and health care plans for effectiveness and modifies per clinical standards and practice protocols Prescribes medical equipment devices physical and occupational therapy and home health services per practice protocol Assists in the preparation implementation and evaluation of research protocols when applicable Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team including the attending physician to develop and implement the therapeutic plan of care for a group of patients and ensure communication with family members Uses evidence based health care literature to advise and support appropriate practice changes Participates in the development and monitoring of patient outcomes per established practice protocols for purposes of quality and performance improvement Serves as a clinical expert and resource for the education of peers and other health professionals Plans and organizes care to meet individual patient needs and to ensure appropriate clinical resource utilization per protocols pathways and other means Qualifications:
Master's Degree, Nurse Practitioner Licensed Acute Care/Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP/AGACNP) required New Acute Care Nurse Practitioner graduates are encouraged to apply Adult (ANP) or Family (FNP) will not be considered for this role. Shift:
12.5 hour shifts Day Shift and Night Shift available Salary:
$135,000 - $195,000 based on experience and shift
