Story County Medical Center is seeking an experienced and strategic financial leader to join our team as
Vice President of Finance/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) . This role is integral to the financial stewardship and long-term sustainability of our organization, ensuring that Story Medical continues to deliver high-quality, affordable healthcare to our community.
The CFO will oversee the financial operations of the hospital, Senior Care, and Foundation, while providing leadership for the revenue cycle, health information management, materials management, and financial services. As a key member of the Administration Team, this individual will guide financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance while serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and leadership team. Key Responsibilities Lead and direct the financial and accounting activities across Story Medical, Senior Care, and Foundation. Administer operations of assigned departments as designated by the CEO. Develop, monitor, and report on annual operating and capital budgets. Prepare required reports to outside agencies, including county taxes and grants. Provide financial leadership and guidance for contracts, investments, and strategic initiatives. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including CMS, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines. Support the CEO and Board with strategic financial planning, risk management, and decision-making. Oversee preparation of annual financial statements and assist with annual audits. Maintain effective communication with hospital departments, Board of Trustees, and community stakeholders. Represent Story Medical in community programs and serve as a key ambassador for the organization. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, or Accounting from an accredited institution. At least two (2) years of experience in a healthcare facility
OR
eligibility for advanced membership in HFMA. Strong leadership and people skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of individuals. Preferred Qualifications:
