As a CNA in home health, you will provide compassionate, one-on-one care to patients in their homes under the supervision of a nurse or therapist. Your role is essential in helping patients maintain independence and comfort in a familiar environment.
As a CNA, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks: Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing Help with mobility, transfers, and positioning to promote safety and comfort Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse or therapist Take and record vital signs, weight, and other health indicators Assist with light housekeeping and meal preparation to maintain a safe home environment Provide companionship and emotional support to patients Support patient independence while ensuring care needs are met Document care activities accurately and in a timely manner according to agency policy Follow infection control and safety protocols in the home setting Travel between patient homes as scheduled and maintain professional conduct in all settings
The ideal candidate must have at least one year of experience as a Certified Nurse Aid in a Home Health setting. Additionally, they should possess a current BLS certification, hold the NNAAP National Certification and be eligible for State licensure
Home health CNAs should be self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care.
