This leadership role includes supervision of nursing staff, coordination of care with healthcare teams, and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulations, all while fostering a supportive work environment that enhances professional development. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support nursing and support staff, delegating tasks effectively. Evaluate staff performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching. Oversee patient assessments, care planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring care plans are adhered to and modified as necessary. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care and address any challenges related to patient flow or care delivery. Facilitate effective communication among physicians, patients, families, and departments, including managing shift handoffs and unit huddles. Monitor patient flow, manage bed assignments, and optimize resource utilization within the unit. Conduct regular rounds with employees and patients to evaluate care delivery and satisfaction. Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols, addressing any issues promptly. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and audits to enhance patient outcomes. Maintain proper inventory of medical supplies and ensure they are utilized efficiently. Promote ongoing education and professional development among nursing staff while addressing their training needs. Lead infection prevention initiatives through audits, staff education, and adherence to protocols. Respond to emergencies by providing leadership and direct patient care as necessary. Perform additional duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards. Qualifications 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience required. Prior leadership or charge nurse experience preferred. Skills and Abilities Strong clinical knowledge to oversee complex patient care effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Leadership and mentoring abilities to foster a positive work environment. Proficient in assessing, prioritizing, and managing multiple patients and tasks. Skilled in using hospital information systems and clinical documentation tools. Knowledgeable about infection control protocols, safety standards, and quality improvement strategies. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle challenges and emergencies in the unit. Licensing and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required. BCLS - Basic Life Support certification required. ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification preferred.
