Position Summary The Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable transportation for children, families, and staff of Annie Malone Children & Family Services. Operating a
10-passenger van , this position ensures timely pick-ups and drop-offs, maintains vehicle safety and cleanliness, and supports the overall mission of the agency. A
valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement is required .
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a 10-passenger van to transport children, families, staff, and materials to and from designated locations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the van to ensure safety, cleanliness, and maintenance compliance.
Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, and incident reports.
Ensure all passengers are properly secured and follow safety procedures.
Assist passengers as needed, including helping children board and exit safely.
Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding scheduling changes, delays, or vehicle issues.
Report vehicle maintenance needs and coordinate for timely servicing or repairs.
Support agency events and programs requiring transportation services.
Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and the mission and values of Annie Malone Children & Family Services.
Qualifications
Required:
Valid CDL with passenger endorsement, clean driving record, and ability to meet agency insurance requirements.
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably transporting passengers in a nonprofit, childcare, or social services setting.
Ability to pass a drug screen, TB risk assessment, physical, and fingerprint background check as required by state licensing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to safety.
Flexible availability, including occasional evenings or weekends.
Physical Requirements
Ability to drive and sit for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to assist passengers with mobility needs when required.
