Environmental Scientist
Our client is a full-service engineering, architecture and surveying firm and they are currently looking for an ambitious Environmental Scientist to join their team of professionals.
Work includes preparation of SEQRA-related documents (Environmental Impact Statements, Generic Environmental Impact Statements, etc.) for multi-family, mixed-use, commercial, retail, municipal projects, etc. Responsibilities: Provides technical assistance for the collection, identification, and compiling of data concerning a variety of biological and ecological systems Provides support to technical staff and project managers for environmental work and permitting projects Environmental Inspections: Conducting construction and post-construction environmental inspections and monitoring to verify compliance with Stormwater and other environmental permit conditions Preparation of a wide range of reports involving environmental regulatory compliance and environmental impact analysis Work within a multidisciplinary team to support a great variety of projects and do so with a focus on the safety and well-being of yourself and fellow team members Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related life sciences field 3 years of experience working as an environmental scientist Critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, excellent writing skills, working well with others, and a willingness to learn are essential for this position Technical writing experience is required Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving, and research capabilities with ability to support interdisciplinary teams of scientists, planners, engineers, and/or managers
