As an Education Supervisor, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the education staff within the program, while also providing daily educational services (including ESL support) to Spanish-speaking youth who have recently arrived in the United States and are currently in short- term foster care.

This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Direct, supervise, and train the education team within the program; Promote effective operations through hiring, training, and orientation of new hires; Build and sustain a cohesive team while cultivating a positive employee morale; Organize and lead daily school activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development for children of a variety of ages and educational backgrounds; Oversee each student's educational plan, and provide the initial educational assessment while also monitoring all curriculum development; Teach curriculum in the areas of basic skills, reading, math, personal hygiene, social skills and/or other educational categories based on the varying ages and educational background; Observe and evaluate the child's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health; Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order during group educational sessions; Participate as a team member and attend meetings with treatment team members to discuss children's behavior in classroom, if necessary; Work closely with the Program Coordinator and/or Program Manager to provide weekly updates of students; Attend internal and external trainings, and apply newly gained knowledge on the job; Serve as a translator to translate both written and verbal communication for program clientele and staff; Maintain clear records of youth attendance and participation in class and report out to the assigned Case Manager; Plan, schedule, and facilitate educational curriculum in compliance with federal, state, and agency requirements; Complete other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's level degree in Human Services, Recreation Therapy, Education, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college; At least two (2) years of experience working in a similar role; At least one (1) year of experience managing others; Prior work experience in community education and/or child welfare; Prior work experience with refugees and minority families, a plus; Possess an English as a Second Language certification, a plus; Must have the ability to complete the 40 hours of annual training; Bi-lingual in English and Spanish; Must be CPR, First Aid, and AEC certified upon hire or within 60 days of hire; Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills; Demonstrated knowledge of current recreation therapy principles, therapeutic interventions, and group counseling techniques; Must be able to behave in a mature manner and reflect stable judgement in a stressful environment; Excellent attention to detail and highly organized; Must have the ability to pass an annual TB test and document preference to receive or decline hepatitis immunization; Must be able to pass required medical examinations and have the physical ability to fulfill the essential job functions, including physical restraints of a resident; Must be willing and able to work days, evenings, and weekends, as needed; Computer skillssufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of MicrosoftOffice suite; Must be 21 years old with a valid driver'slicense with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalfof Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain areliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage; Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries; Documentation of immunity to vaccine preventable diseases orthe willingness to receive vaccination, or seek an exemption; Subscription to and integrationof the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity
