With a commitment to operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and vibrant resident communities, our client is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee full property operations at a flagship residential development. Position Summary
We are hiring a
Community Manager
to lead the day-to-day operations of a residential property, ensuring a best-in-class resident experience, strong team performance, and full compliance with legal and financial standards. This individual will serve as the key liaison between ownership, residents, vendors, and internal teams-overseeing budgets, maintenance, leasing, capital improvements, and on-site staff management. Key Responsibilities Property & Team Management Oversee all daily operations of the residential property Supervise on-site teams including resident managers, maintenance, leasing, and administrative staff Conduct regular inspections and ensure timely upkeep of all building systems and common areas Negotiate and manage vendor contracts for services such as HVAC, cleaning, pest control, landscaping, etc. Respond to building emergencies, secure appropriate resources, and execute follow-up plans Ensure compliance with safety standards, city codes, and legal requirements Coordinate construction and capital improvement projects Financial & Operational Oversight Prepare annual operating budgets and forecasts Review monthly variance and utility consumption reports Process and approve invoices; track vendor payments and account activity Analyze income/expenditure trends and recommend cost-effective strategies Maintain insurance compliance across property assets Resident Experience & Stakeholder Relations Interface directly with residents to address concerns and maintain satisfaction Manage lease renewals, complaints, and housing inquiries in collaboration with legal and compliance teams Ensure timely completion of inspections, certifications, and audits Build positive relationships with asset managers, ownership, and internal business partners Qualifications Minimum
5 years of residential property management experience
in NYC, preferably with rent-regulated or mixed-income properties Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Marketing, or Finance (or equivalent experience) Working knowledge of LIHTC compliance and NYC rental regulations NY Real Estate License (or ability to obtain within 90 days) Experience managing building systems and operations Strong financial acumen including budgeting, vendor payment workflows, and reporting Revenue management software experience preferred Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word Ability to motivate staff and resolve complex issues calmly and diplomatically
