Assist the school principal in overall administration of instructional program and campus level operations. Coordinate assigned student activities and services. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: Master's degree required Texas Principal or Mid-Management certificate required OR eligible for temporary certification Certified Professional Development and Appraisal System (PDAS) appraiser required OR eligible for traning and certification

Special Knowledge/Skills: Thorough understanding of school operations Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to coordinate campus support operations Demonstrated ability as an instructional leader Proven leadership skills Ability to implement policy and procedures Ability to analyze and interpret data and statistics Bilingual preferred DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Management 1. Assist the Principal with overall program planning, supervision, and evaluation for the campus. 2. Participate in development and evaluation of educational programs. 3. Utilize, encourage, and support the instructional staff to maintain and improve instructional programs. 4. Facilitate teacher implementation of concepts and content in all instructional areas. 5. Promote the use of technology in teaching/learning process. 6. Facilitate staff development including in-service activities, workshops, and support materials.

School/Organizational Climate 7. Interact effectively with student to promote a positive, caring climate for learning. 8. Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds. 9. Communicate effectively with students and staff. 10. Implement a discipline management system that produces a productive campus environment.

School/Organizational Improvement 11. Participate in development of campus improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members. 12. Help principal develop, maintain, and use information systems to maintain and records to track progress on campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators.

Personnel Management 13. Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences. Serve as second appraiser for designated teacher appraisal system. 14. Assist principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff.

Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management 15. Supervise operations in principal's absence. 16. Help plan daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activity schedules. 17. Supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with attendance clerk on follow-up investigations. 18. Work with department heads and faculty to compile annual budget requests based on documented program needs. 19. Assist with the requisitioning of supplies, textbooks, and equipment; check inventory; maintain records; and verify receipts for materials. 20. Assist with safety inspections and safety-drill practice activities. 21. Coordinate transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services. 22. Professionally communicate and interpret federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and board procedures and policies. 23. Assist faculty and staff in maintaining a learning environment (curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular) that enhances the academic, physical, social, and emotional development of students.

Student Management 24. Ensure that students are adequately supervised during noninstructional periods. 25. Help to develop a student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior. 26. Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable. 27. Conduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.

Records Management 28. Maintain accurate and complete records of programs and projects for which he/she is responsible. 29. Punctually submit accurate reports as may be required by law, District policy, or administrative regulation.

Professional Growth and Development 30. Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment.

School/Community Relations 31. Articulate the school's mission to community and solicit its support in realizing mission. 32. Demonstrate awareness of school-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs. 33. Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement. 34. Maintain a positive image of the school by attending school functions.

Other 35. Display tolerance necessary for accepting supervision for and criticism of job performance. 36. Work in harmony with supervisory, faculty, and peer personnel. 37. Use professional information discreetly and judiciously. 38. Support and follow administrative and Board policy. 39. Represent the school system to the community in a positive and professional way. 40. Maintain a sincere, friendly attitude toward patrons and always exhibit excellent customer service. 41. Perform all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Three years experience as a classroom teacher required One year of administrative experience preferred EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION:
