ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time, administrative position of Science Lab Coordinator.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this position will be responsible for supervision and management of laboratory operations for the Sciences (including Physical Sciences and Biology, departments included are Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science and Physics). This position will be supervised by the Dean of Math and Science and will work in close coordination with the Department Chair of Physical Sciences and the Department Chair of Biology. Primary work location is Belleville campus, with the expectation of travel to Granite City and Red Bud.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in either Chemistry or Biology, Master's degree preferred.
2. 5 years of laboratory experience required, experience in higher education setting preferred.
3. Completion of OSHA Lab Safety Course preferred, will be expected to complete additional safety coursework/certifications, including HAZWOPER and DOT certifications, if not already completed.
4. Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to hire.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
Salary Grade 2 on the Administrative Pay Scale, ranging from $44,691 to $55,841.
