Variety Show Assistant at Williams-Cone School
to join our vibrant educational community. Together, we can inspire the next generation of learners and leaders.
The Variety Show is designed as an extracurricular opportunity for students in grades two through five. Students will create acts, try out and be selected to participate in the Variety Show. The goal is to provide students with an opportunity to create a variety of acts and routines and perform them in front of a school wide audience. The students will try out and/or rehearse at least eight times after school, leading up to two public performances for the school community by April.
Enrollment
Between 50-60 students anticipated.
Essential Job Functions of the Variety Show Assistant The Variety Show Assistant works with the Director on tasks as directed. Participate in all auditions and rehearsals; organizes and trains a student backstage crew. Present for all auditions/rehearsals and serves as a stage manager during dress rehearsal and performances. Helps to manage student behaviors during rehearsals, performances and the cast party. Work with students consists of one after school help session, two after school auditions, five after school rehearsals, the dress rehearsal, two performances and the cast party. Requirements Summary
Previous experience participating in and supporting Variety Show productions. Previous successful experience working with elementary-age students Current teacher certification highly preferred Valid State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization.
