Summary:
The Elementary School Counselor supports classroom teachers with behavior interventions and social-emotional learning, while also overseeing 504 plans, district assessments, and ensuring students have access to necessary resources. The position also serves as the building liaison for homeless students and state assessments.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support classroom teachers with behavior intervention
Oversee 504 plans as well as district progress monitoring testing
Be a strong supporter of the classroom teacher
Assist Principal with supervision (activities, playground and hall duty)
Actively interact with students both in and out of the classroom
Lead teachers in providing social and emotional learning
Ensure students have access to needed materials such as school supplies
Serve as building homeless student liaison
Serve as School Assessment Coordinator for all state assessments
Any and all other duties as assigned Requirements:
Master's Degree with a Colorado Department of Education School Counselor License is preferred The Weld Re-9 School District will consider other combinations of education and work experience, as well as individuals enrolled in a Colorado school counseling preparation program Teaching experience preferred Candidate who is a team player and willing to go beyond basic contractual obligations preferred Salary and Benefits: Salary range is $31,584.24-$41,524.45 per year, depending on education, years of experience, and professional development credits.
