Organization Context

We are a non-profit, community-based social services agency founded in 1971. We provide mental health, wraparound, and family services to children, adolescents, and families (ages 0-21) who are Medi-Cal eligible and meet mental health necessity criteria. Services are provided in outpatient settings, at agency sites, in homes, or in the community, depending on client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for children, adolescents, and families with emotional, behavioral, and mental health disorders. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications; monitor for side effects, medication interactions, and the impact of physical health on mental health. Collaborate with therapists, psychologists, case managers, and other clinical staff in multi-disciplinary care teams. Participate in treatment planning, progress reviews, and crisis intervention as needed. Provide services in various settings (agency clinic, homes, community settings) as needed to meet client needs. Document thoroughly: psychiatric evaluations, medication plans, follow-ups, and communication with other providers. Consult with outside agencies, school systems, foster care providers, or other stakeholders as needed to coordinate care. Participate in supervision / mentoring of less experienced clinical staff (if applicable). Maintain compliance with Medi-Cal, licensing, regulatory, and quality assurance requirements. Minimum Qualifications

MD or DO in Psychiatry with completed residency. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (California licensure required). Valid California medical license to practice psychiatry. Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in community mental health / outpatient settings preferred. Understanding of working with Medi-Cal eligible populations. Strong communication skills, cultural competency; Spanish fluency preferred but not required. Desired Attributes

not a leadership or director position ; focus is on clinical delivery rather than program oversight. ssignment is for six months, with possibility of extension based on performance and funding.
