The Laboratory Manager will lead and oversee the operations of our Pre-Analytical Laboratory. This individual will play a crucial role in managing day-to-day activities, ensuring staff development, maintaining regulatory compliance, and achieving high levels of service quality. The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for directing staff, optimizing production schedules, and addressing client inquiries while ensuring the department consistently meets corporate service metrics. As the Laboratory Manager of our Pre-Analytical Laboratory, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations, compliance, and high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Director, support the daily operational activities of the Pre-Analytical Laboratory, ensuring efficient staffing, and monitoring the production schedule to ensure adequate coverage and proper overtime use. Supervise, train, and mentor Team Leads, and hold responsibility for the performance of all departmental staff with Director oversight. Ensure the laboratory consistently provides exceptional service levels, meeting client needs and corporate service metrics for post-analytical Turnaround Time (TAT). Address client inquiries and operational issues promptly by consulting with the Director when necessary. Ensure the laboratory's compliance with corporate, state, and federal regulatory requirements (CAP, CLIA, State, ISO, etc.) in terms of personnel safety, quality of laboratory testing, and professional conduct in collaboration with the Director and Satellite Team Lead. Assist with the development and implementation of laboratory procedures and workflows to optimize performance. In Collaboration with the Director and Team Lead(s) assist with the hiring process, conducting performance management, providing training, and fostering the professional development of all team members. In Collaboration with the Director and Team Lead(s), facilitate effective communication between leadership, clients, sales teams, corporate operations, and departmental staff to ensure alignment and smooth operations. Lead departmental meetings to ensure clear communication of goals, expectations, and updates to all staff members. Investigate deviations from established procedures, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken in a timely manner to maintain laboratory standards. Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a clinical diagnostics laboratory (Phlebotomy, Lab Receptionist, or Processing department). Prior experience in supervising multiple direct reports, with the ability to manage and support leadership teams. Experience managing a high-volume clinical laboratory environment is preferred. Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and relevant state regulations. In-depth understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures. Proven success in training and developing both technical and non-technical staff. Ability to problem-solve and provide solutions with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with a wide range of stakeholders. High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Comfortable making decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, lifting, and manual dexterity. Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience managing people leaders and departmental teams in a clinical laboratory setting. Certification or formal training in laboratory management or related fields is a plus.
