The Gleason Works
Technical / commercial position; responsible for the direct/indirect selling and support of the global distribution channel. Interprets customer specifications and application requirements in order to provide technical assistance and assurances of product capability. Coordinates the dissemination of order requirements throughout Gleason Metrology Systems to ensure effective engineering, manufacturing, assembly, product installation and acceptance to meet customer expectations. Conducts product pre-acceptance activities to secure customer approval required for shipment. Provides applications support throughout the installation and final acceptance process at the customer site.
Provide quality assurance function for outgoing products, ( run-offs, GR&R Studies, applications development).
Provide in-house & on-site training to domestic and international customers as well as the Gleason global sales organization
Provide technical support to customers after machine installation.
Perform demonstrations, presentations and training as required during domestic and international trade shows, at customer locations and at GMS to facilitate sales of products and services. Keep technical presentations updated as required by product change.
Obtains and disseminates intimate knowledge of customers' requirements and expectations with regard to application, correlation, process speed, output, and data integration requirements, quality of detailed information as it relates to the project.
Build and maintain presentation materials for applications suite of software as modules are produced and updated. Maintain updates in the Gleason Sales Workbook.
Composes quotes and/or proposals for metrology solutions to meet customer specifications particularly applications requirements.
Composes Machine Order Forms (MOF) and related internal documents to facilitate the communication of order requirements and customer expectations to all GMS constituents. High emphasis on quality of information content.
Composes Engineering RFQs (Request For Quote) and related internal documents to facilitate the communication to appropriate GMS engineering staff of customer requirements and expectations with respect to specialized functions and features as applied to software / hardware requirements.
Maintains MLC commercial and machine acceptance schedule to current status.
Actively participates in improving Sales Order First Pass Yield (FPY) and on time delivery (OTD) metrics, Supports internal quality system, open issue items
Lead contract review sessions for assigned sales orders to disseminate requirements to the attending cross functional staff, (Eng., SW Eng., Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, & Service
Preferred Education/Training/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / industrial Engineering or other related technology degree with 2-3 years’ work experience.
Associates degree in related field with 5-8 years of work experience may be considered.
Minimum 2 years of technical / commercial / applications support experience related to an engineered system product. CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine) product experience with is a plus.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is required.
Windows Office skills required.
Requires strong oral and written communication skills to convey complex ideas or systems operations.
Understanding of basic statistics, basic mathematic algorithms and strong mechanical blueprint reading capability.
Goal and accuracy oriented, timely completion and successful implementation of assignments.
Some working knowledge of cylindrical and spiral bevel gear sets a plus.
