JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of all District automobiles, buses, trucks, and other related equipment and for providing support to the Shop Manager for various duties and responsibilities as needed.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) from an accredited institution, or vocational degreefrom an accredited institution in the field of Automotive Technology or related field Three years experience in automotive setting, school bus maintenance, or other type of fleet maintenance OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

Possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B, with a Passenger Endorsement 'P' or able to attain within 6 months of employment Must maintain a driving record that meets the standards of the District Safe Driver Plan, Driver's license must be maintained as a condition of continued employment Must maintain current and valid Florida Department of Education School Bus Safety Inspector Certification or able to attain within 1 year of employment Must maintain ASE A/C Certification or able to attain within 6 months of employment OTHER REQUIREMENTS

All hires must pass the pre-employment drug screening according to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employees Testing Act (OTETA). All hires must meet the physical requirements of the Post Offer Employment Testing (POET). All hires must submit to and pass an initial drug test and subsequent random drug tests in accordance with the requirements of Florida Statute 112.0455 and the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Supervise the daily task of assigned employees, to include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; training employee. Review the work of vehicle technicians and provide feedback.
