JOB SUMMARY:
Shuttle Drivers transport Members to and from school and other sites within designated route(s) and ensure the safety of Members while in a Club van. Drivers are responsible for the safe operation of a Club van and for ensuring the safety of passengers while meeting established route schedules. ****
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Drives 13 passenger vans or other Club vehicles in accordance with time schedules; picking up and dropping off Members at designated destinations.
Transports Members and staff safely to and from field trips, special events, and other Club-related activities.
Maintains order and proper discipline of youth while in the vehicle.
Conduct daily safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle.
Reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary.
Services vehicles with gas and fills tires as needed.
Maintains cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition.
Completes mileage and other reports which may include passenger counts.
Attend various meetings regarding safety, first aid, and trainings as required.
Fulfills other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Safe, Positive Climate:
All staff must ensure a safe and positive climate for all members at all times. This includes keeping an eye on the areas visible to them and any other area within their range of senses. Staff should ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and that it is being used in its intended manner. Should questions arise, staff are responsible for contacting their direct supervisor for assistance. ****
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 21 years of age
Valid driver license with a clean driving record
CDL license preferred
CPR & First Aid/Pathogens Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
Must pass all required background checks
Experience working with youth/children a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
Ability to bend, twist, and move as needed for job responsibilities
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions
Must be able to lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds on occasion
Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels and high activity
