Civil Engineering Specialist

supporting the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV). In this exciting role, you will contribute to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Eastern Service Area (ESA) by engaging in diverse projects that enhance air traffic control facilities.

You will be actively involved in design engineering, cost estimating, scheduling, and project inspections, ensuring project goals and timelines are met. Your efforts will play a crucial part in maintaining the accuracy of designs and the timely completion of projects. This is an in-office position located in College Park, GA Up to 25% travel required Civil Engineering Specialist Primary Responsibilities: Plan and design a variety of facility establishment, replacement, and modernization projects, including buildings, roofing, antenna towers, site work, structural systems, seismic reinforcement, foundations, and environmental assessments. Conduct on-site surveys to develop innovative designs and detailed reports. Analyze studies of existing facilities to improve safety and efficiency. Utilize advanced software tools for engineering analysis and design. Create detailed sketches that illustrate the relationship between proposed and existing structures, including specifications and dimensions. Coordinate and schedule construction activities to ensure timely project milestone completion in collaboration with stakeholders and contractors. Lead engineering teams to identify and resolve design or implementation challenges. Prepare comprehensive construction drawings, site-specific specifications, and independent cost estimates. Review contractor designs and construction submissions for compliance. Manage project communications, including safety plans, work sequences, risk management, and necessary permits. Participate in on-site coordination meetings, inspections, cutovers, and facility restorations. Provide regular project updates to team members, management, and stakeholders. Respond promptly to requests for information and project-related submissions. Deliver monthly and semi-annual reports on work status. Manage multiple projects to achieve successful, on-time completions. Conduct internal design reviews of fellow projects. Civil Engineering Specialist Basic Qualifications: Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college or university. Eight years of experience in the design and construction of commercial or institutional facilities (or a Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience). Current knowledge of building codes and regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Expertise in engineering analysis and design software. Ability to obtain and maintain public trust suitability. Civil Engineering Specialist Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in creating and editing project drawings in AutoCAD. Understanding of the National Airspace System components within an air route traffic control center (ARTCC). Registered Professional Engineer in good standing in the United States. Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation.
