Full job description:
Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This includes diagnosing problems, performing repairs, conducting routine maintenance, and ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely. They also handle installations, maintain records, and interact with customers. Specific duties often include:
Installation:
Installing new HVAC systems, including ductwork, air handlers, compressors, and thermostats.
Maintenance:
Performing routine maintenance checks, cleaning systems, lubricating parts, and replacing filters to ensure optimal performance.
Repair:
Diagnosing and repairing issues with HVAC systems, including electrical and mechanical components. This may involve replacing parts, fixing leaks, or recharging refrigerant.
Emergency Repairs:
Responding to emergency calls and making necessary repairs quickly and efficiently.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of work performed, including repairs, maintenance, and installations.
Customer Interaction:
Communicating with customers about system issues, maintenance needs, and repair recommendations.
Safety Compliance:
Ensuring all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Troubleshooting:
Identifying and resolving problems with HVAC systems, using knowledge of electrical and mechanical components, according to Aerotek.
System Optimization:
Adjusting system controls to improve efficiency and performance.
Inventory Management:
Managing and maintaining inventory of tools and supplies.
Training and Guidance:
Providing guidance and training to other technicians or apprentices.
