A well-established technology consulting firm in Philadelphia is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer for a hybrid position supporting a mix of public and private sector clients. This is a full time opportunity where you'll be diving deep into Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, working alongside a skilled infrastructure team focused on automation, virtualization, and secure system design.
Required Skills & Experience
• 4+ years of professional experience with Linux systems administration (preferably Red Hat/CentOS/Rocky)
• Strong knowledge of Bash scripting and automation tooling
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet
• Familiarity with VMware or other virtualization platforms
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, firewalls)
• Comfortable working onsite in Philly 2-3 days per week
Desired Skills & Experience
• Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines or tools like GitLab/GitHub Actions
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or OpenStack
• Security hardening and compliance experience (DISA STIGs, CIS benchmarks)
• Python or Perl scripting is a plus
